Social Blunder #273

Do NOT answer your cell phone while you're using the restroom. This is doubly so when it is a public one.

Looks like there’s egg on my face.

A big "whoops" from me. Sylvia Andersen's campaign manager contacted me to inform me that I sent an e-mail to the wrong address. It's syvliaandersen@comcast.net, not sylviaanderson@comcast.net. My bad.
Of course, this also underscores why I've said it's important to register your own domain. It avoids mix-ups like that and you can create a catch-all address […]

Random Funnies

I saw a car today with an advertisement for "Hard Core Tattoos" on the rear windshield in big vinyl letters. It would have been more believable if it wasn't on a mini-van.

Note to Candidates: Check Your E-mail

My wife thinks I'm pretty strange. As soon as we got the state voter information pamphlet, I started looking up which districts we're in and shot off e-mails to candidates asking them where they stand. According to her, nobody she knows has ever done that, but I'm also atypical. Since I've been a candidate and […]

Good News!

Last evening the Council decided to move the ordinance to ban smoking in public areas in SLC to the next step which is having it considered at a Public Hearing next Tuesday.
Hooray!

Don’t Miss This Bus

Don't miss the train either, for that matter. Salt Lake and Utah Counties have some very important questions on the ballot this year involving increasing taxes to pay for corridor preservation, expanding TRAX, and getting commuter rail from Payson to downtown Salt Lake. We're in quite the transportation crunch right now and the state is […]

Coming soon to a TV near you…

Looks like Mr. T is getting his own reality TV show called (brace yourselves) "I Pity The Fool". I might have to watch it.

For those of you that live in Salt Lake County…

You may or may not be aware, but today the Salt Lake City Council will be considering an ordinance that will ban smoking in all city parks, outdoor recreational facilities, and at public events with more than 500 people in attendance.
We're totally in favor of this ordinance. If you agree, below is an email message […]

Travel Log, Sacramento CA: Day 3

And the conclusion to our thrilling four-part saga…
Okay, not really, but I needed an opener. We slept in pretty good Sunday morning (as well as we could with Chloe being a crack-head), ate a big yummy breakfast, then spent the balance of the morning kicking back and doing the "wasting time until we have to […]

Yes, I blew up the website.

We had about an hour or so of downtime this morning as I made a small mistake when changing some server configuration. It's all fixed now.
It all started because in the last 5 days, we've gotten well over 100 new spam comments. Not wanting to have to verify that there aren't good comments in there, […]
