Peanut Butter Jelly Time

There are a lot of food combinations that are totally non-obvious. Tortellini and eggs, chili and spaghetti, cream cheese and cucumbers. Even peanut butter and jelly can be non-obvious. Well, it can be when you use habanero jelly.

That's right. I made a peanut butter and habanero jelly sandwich today. Why would I do such a thing? Because 1) my aunts made that recommendation when they sent me a new round of the stuff and 2) some guy at work said he'd eat it if I made one. And you know what? He did.

Peanut Butter and Habanero Jelly

Amazingly, two other people had some and said it was pretty good. I didn't touch it, but now I'm deathly curious. I mean, I like peanut butter. I like spicy-sweet Thai food. Is it possible for the two to combine in a way inconceivable to a rational man? I just might have to try it out sometime.

  1. I think it sounds good.

  2. I never thought peanut butter and mozzarella cheese would be a winning combo, but let me tell you — the spicy peanut butter pizza at John’s Incredible Pizza is the best thing I’ve ever tasted.

Next to Jesse and Shauna’s pot roast, of course. :)

  3. I think it’s neat that you wrap your sandwiches in foil.

  4. Did you ever try it? I still like the jelly best with cream cheese & Ritz. Thanks for telling us about your blog! Love you, C

  5. I wasn't quite brave enough to, but I think I'll have to give it a shot in the not-too-distant future.
