Movie Industry Shows Lack of Scruples… Again
With CleanFlick out of business and ClearPlay under intense scrutiny, Hollywood is again rolling out the "stop compromising our artistic visions" line of crapola. I wonder just how many of these studios that bemoan having the sex, violence, and language filtered out of their movies are still making edited versions of their movies for TV networks. I guess when the price is right, "artistic vision" can go right down the drain.
They could easily satisfy the demand for edited movied and increase sales if they would just distribute the made for TV version along with the unedited movie. Of course, this makes too much sense for an industry used to telling customers what they want and not the other way around. Just like the music industry, they are so caught up in their dying business model that they can't see the Next Big Thing about to bite them in the rear.
