Looks like I was right.

Looks like I could very well be right about Democrats being scared of Romney winning the Republican nomination. I hate to say "I told you so," but… I told you so.

Interesting article. I love how many times they pointed out that he was appealing because he was attractive. And this line “and frankly, because he comes across well on television.”

My grandpa would say it’s because of Primary Talks. Gives LDS kids better speaking skills. 😛

I still think you’re reading into things too much. He is, however, a pretty moderate candidate (his recent alleged shift to the right not withstanding—conservatives beware), and as such a threat during the national election. It’s too easy to paint him as flip-flopping on his views, because the evidence is so clear. He’s certainly not being singled out, I can tell you that. I look at Huffington Post, for example, and he’s on there pretty rarely, especially in comparison to McCain. Boy do they go after McCain on that site! Liberals are doing all they can to tie McCain to the surge, so when (not if) the “surge” fails, McCain will go down with Bush. McCain has staked his reputation on the surge. Too bad for him. Giuliani is no threat. Democrats know he’s a better known name than Romney, but they’ll wait until closer to the primaries before starting the ads showing how liberal Giuliani really is.

My guess, with all three major Republican players with such heavy baggage is that Brownback will be the conservative representative and win the Republican nomination. He’ll then lose in the general election, as the country continues to purge the government of all those with ties to the war in Iraq.
