I recall an (admittedly) out-of-character e-mail from Shauna asking me to visit a site and pick the adjectives which best described her. She then argued with my choices as they differed from her own view of herself.

“Hummm… ’stubborn,’ ‘calculating,’ and ‘ambitious?’… Well, all my *other* friends chose ‘friendly,’ ‘warm,’ and ‘witty.’ I myself chose ‘generous,’ ‘intellegent,’ and ‘open-minded.’ Couldn’t you have picked something more flattering?”

Ah… but it's not the silly little quizzes I object to. It's the very chain-mail-esque way in which I was told I *had* to participate and the requirement to then pass it on. People can post silly quizzes to their hearts' content. And I'll join in when I'm bored or feel otherwise compelled. The surest way to get me to delete an email is to tell me I must pass it on to 10 people immediately lest my entire life unravel before my very eyes.
