A Perfectly Valid Reason to Still Be Up at 5AM
Appendicitis.
More specifically, Shauna's sitting in St. Mark's Hospital (room 9 in the emergency room if you're interested) with a "gnarly-looking" (quote from the doctor) hunk of everyone's favorite vestigial organ. She's going to have it taken out tomorrow (today?) and is going to be kept in the hospital for a day for observation. This, of course, means… no Thanksgiving eating.
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go pass out. Spending 10 hours in a hospital takes a lot out of you. Especially when you should have been sleeping for most of it.
UPDATE: She's been moved to room West 28 on the 4th floor.

Holy…. See you tonight! I’ll be there after work.
That. Sucks.
Ditto. Get well pronto.
Yikes! Get better soon!
Yucky yucky. If I could I would be there lady. I’ve see so much of hospitals the past 4 days I feel your pain. (not literally, it’s a different pain all together). I’ll save you some of my homemade cranberry sauce… unless you don’t like cranberry sauce… then I’ll keep it because I wouldn’t want to waste it.
Oh no! I’m glad it happened when you were back in the country, at least. I hope you get feeling better soon.
