Super Shoppers

Yesterday was shopping day, our fridge looking about as empty and pathetic as a fridge can. While out, we ran across a peach of a deal: Ball Park all-beef hot dogs for a dollar a package. We decided to stock up on them since we've been thinking about having a BBQ this summer and hot dogs freeze well. We got another bonus after checking out. Apparently there's a deal where if you buy 5 packages of Ball Park hot dogs (or some other combination of Sara Lee products), you get a $5 off coupon. That's right: we essentially picked up 40 hot dogs for free. Maybe we should buy and freeze some packages of Sara Lee hot dog buns to see if we can get those for free too.

Yeah, but then I'd have to eat HOT DOGS. Bleh.

  2. I like hot dogs, actually.  Hebrew National would have to be my brand of choice… but they come in packages of 7.

  3. You know what I really love though?  A good barbecue.  Or barbeque, if you prefer.  Or BBQ.  Except that always looks like one of those abbreviations on a personals ad.

    Yeah, I could see that.

    Big, Beautiful Quesadilla seeks…?

Hebrew Nationals are always my first pick (with Nathan's as an acceptable second), but it's hard to find those for free.

In the old days and I mean the days when you walked 2 miles to school going up hill both ways, we used to buy 1 nickle hot dogs from Reams 60 or 80 at a time when the  quarterly sale came on. I can tell you that Hot Dogs in the bun can be frozen very easily and unthaw even without todays microwaves for a very quick meal. For some reason I can't remember the brand of dog we used to get in Chicago but I would rate it #1 although I do like Hebrew National. Whenever I go to Phoenix (the dog place on Indian School) or Vegas (in the Gold Coast) I make sure I renew my love affair.
